Squirt House League

The Squirt House League program creates a fun environment for kids to learn the fundamentals of hockey while also teaching sportsmanship and what it means to be a team player. Teams will participate in the North Shore League. Our dedicated coaching staff will facilitate practices but we are always looking for parent coaches to help out!

Ages

For players ages 9-10.

When

Season runs from mid-September through mid-March.

Where

Practices and games will be held primarily at the Northbrook Sports Center. Some practices throughout the season may also be at Jet Ice.

Practices

Practices are 2 times per week unless there is a game. Then it is one practice and one game. Practices are generally held on Saturdays and Sundays.

Games

Squirt House will participate in the North Shore Hockey League.

Jerseys

Players will receive a Northbrook Bluehawks reversible jersey and hockey socks at the beginning of the season.

Volunteer Program

Each family with one or more children in House and/or Travel programs will be required to complete volunteer hours throughout the year. There will also be an “Opt Out” option.

NBHL will utilize the Crossbar system to manage our volunteer opportunities. This program is not intended to be a fundraiser. There is a lot of volunteer work and hours to be completed each year and this program is meant to spread the hours needed among the entire program.
